Fatou Coulibaly
With a passion for sustainability issues and an advanced understanding of organizational strategies, Fatou is a qualified Program Manager skilled in managing functional operations and development projects. Experienced and enthusiastic Consultant with a record of success leading projects, she possesses an interpersonal and problem-solving view to provide advice and expertise to client organizations and governments to improve business performances and policies. Effective advisor communicates well with people of all ages and backgrounds. Focused on introducing efficient systems and processes. With more than eight years of experience, Fatou’s personal goal is to develop renewable energy and WASH projects in Senegal and West Africa, specifically in solid waste-to-energy projects that have a positive impact on carbon print and are valuable as a carbon credit.
Sylvia Manono
Sylvia is an Analyst at EED Advisory. I’m passionate about contributing to the green energy, climate change mitigation, and WASH sectors to advance sustainable development. Over time, I have honed the skills required to succeed in the role such as data collection, research, and analysis. At EED, I support the business development and project implementation process by developing concept notes, expressions of interest, and proposals. Prior to joining EED, I was an associate engineer at Kapa Oil Refineries Ltd, a position that allowed me to explore project management. I also interned at Bidco Africa and the Kenya Pipeline Company. I graduated with a B. Eng. in Chemical and Process Engineering from Moi University.
Mary Kisaka
Mary is a passionate geospatial enthusiast with expertise in data research and reports writing, analysis and visualization, cartography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and geographic information systems. Currently, Mary is an analyst at EED Advisory Limited. In her previous role as a Geospatial Analyst at a research company, she developed machine learning prediction models for agriculture, analyzed data and created visual plots using Python, JavaScript, and Excel, and manipulated vector, raster satellite data, and cloud-optimized Geo Tiffs for smart agriculture, land use, and land cover, as well as climate change predictions using Sentinel hub dashboard, ArcMap, and Qgis at farm level. As a Geographic Information System Assistant, Mary developed spatial datasets and databases for insurance units, established features extents using online gazetteers such as Google Earth and Google Earth Engine, cartographically represented the spatial units as an atlas, and wrote reports and overview descriptions for every spatial unit for the development of the atlas. She has a bachelor’s degree in Geospatial engineering from The University of Nairobi.
Marie Omedo
Marie Omedo specializes in the use of GIS and Data Analytics to provide insights into the land and land use changes. She offered technical assistance in the GIZ GCF project that focused on the distribution and sales of clean cooking stoves in various parts of Kenya. Prior to joining EED Advisory, Marie interned at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning. She was part of the team that created the Chaka and Othaya Local Physical and Land Use Development Plans (LPLUDPs). Marie holds an MSc. In Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Nairobi.
Desmond Tutu
Desmond is a Senior Analyst at EED Advisory. He is an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Expert with a cumulative experience of 13 years working at the intersection of Green Finance, Green Politics, and Green Economy to inform sustainable financing and compliance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in the Food Systems, Clean Energy, Water, Forestry and Nature Based Solution spaces. Given his Environment, Legal, and International Trade background, he remains committed to designing due diligence tools and improving place-based certification infrastructures to promote equitable transitions and resilient ecosystems at regional, national, and subnational levels. Prior to joining EED Advisory, he was a Research Associate at Yale Centre of Environmental Law and Policy (YCELP) and the Yale Initiative on Sustainable Finance (YISF), and a Lecturer at Strathmore School of Law. Passionate about just green transitions, he brings an interdisciplinary approach to identifying immediate and long-term tools, mechanisms, metrics, and indicators that creates value for investors, business, and society. He has provided Sustainability Advisory for Local Banks, Multinational Companies, Conservancies, WWF, Global Grant Funds, EU, Faith Based Institutions, United Nations, World Bank, Local Communities, Government Agencies, Law Firms, The Judiciary, and Legislature across East Africa Community. Desmond holds a master’s in Environmental Management from Yale University where he majored in Policy Analysis and Eco-Security Strategies. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from University of Nairobi.
Lewis Waswa
Lewis Waswa holds a bachelor and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Nairobi and Stellenbosch University in South Africa respectively. He has worked extensively in the energy sector for several firms including Atkins Global, Solargen Technologies and the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (CRSES). His areas of professional experience include mini-grid and mini-grid design, energy and water solutions, metering, and energy monitoring, as well as distributed energy resource integration on the low voltage networks. Lewis is a recipient of the prestigious Mandela Rhodes scholarship for the class of 2018. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Stellenbosch University, where his research is mainly focussed on planning active distribution networks. During his free time, he enjoys reading, travelling, and playing soccer.
Purity Maritim
Purity is an Associate at EED Advisory. She is a law and development practitioner passionate about using her education, skills, and career, to make an impact, particularly in the lives of the marginalized and less fortunate in society. She is committed to building a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable society through a career in policy and development. Prior to joining EED Advisory, she was a student consultant for the United Nations Research Institute on Social Development, and a research and administrative assistant at the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre. With a genuine passion for creating interdisciplinary solutions, Purity has completed various studies including a project on assessing the quality of just transitions, the impact of covid-19 on childcare arrangements of women in Nairobi’s informal settlements, and labour rights violations in the garment supply chain industry. Purity holds a Master in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute (Geneva) where she majored in Environment and Sustainability. She also holds Bachelor of Laws from Strathmore University (Nairobi).
Ann Kahihia
Ann is an Analyst at EED Advisory. She possesses exemplary research and analytical skills. At EED, she has been providing support in various projects such as carrying out research and analysis on a wide range of projects in the energy sectors. In addition, she supports the business development and project implementation process by developing concept notes, expressions of interest, and proposals. Before joining EED Advisory, Ann worked as a senior high school Physics and Mathematics teacher at Elite Girls High School. Ann graduated from Rongo University having pursued a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
Maureen Wango
Maureen is the Administrative Manager at EED Advisory. She has 8 years of experience in finance and administration. She is responsible for developing, reviewing, and improving policies, systems, and procedures and, ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently. Prior to joining EED Advisory, she worked with Alice for Children by Twins International as the Program and Finance Manager in Kenya. Maureen holds a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi, Bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Egerton University, she is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of ICPAK.
Poulman Aineah
Poulman Aineah specializes in the use of GIS and Remote Sensing to provide insights in energy demand assessment for the grid and off-grid markets and assessing water and sanitation access through cross-tabulation of demographics data, water infrastructure and water resources data among other datasets. He offered technical assistance for the SNV energy project that aimed to assess the accessibility and distribution of Improved Cookstoves in Kenya. Prior to joining EED Advisory, Poulman worked as a Health and Safety Officer at Pestavic EHS Services. He supported the integration of spatial analysis in mapping and assessment of occupational health and safety at the workplace. Poulman has finished his MSc. Environmental Planning and Management at Kenyatta University after attaining a scholarship with German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and is awaiting graduation. He holds a BSc. from Kenyatta University and is a registered Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) associate expert registered by NEMA.
