Daniel Wanjohi
Daniel Wanjohi is an Engagement Director at EED Advisory Limited. He has 19 years of experience in program design and management, enterprise development, energy delivery models, policy analysis and advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation in the cooking sector. He has a remarkable mix of experience in managing multi-country programs and teams and working with both the private sector and non-governmental organizations having been a regional manager at the UN Foundation Clean Cooking Alliance for Eastern Africa. Under his stewardship as a regional manager for Eastern Africa, the sector was able to achieve the following milestones; support enterprises to become investment ready in Kenya and Uganda; removal of VAT on clean Cookstoves in Kenya and LPG; reduction of import duty from 35% to 25% in cookstoves and removal of excise duty on denatured ethanol as an alternative fuel of choice; removal of VAT on ethanol; establishment of the inter-ministerial committee on clean cooking in Kenya and Uganda and; recognition of the cooking sector in energy access equation and being made prominent in the country SE4ALL Action Agenda and Investment Prospectus. Daniel holds a Master of Science in Dryland Biodiversity from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Renewable Energy from Teri University.
